Valuable Tips to Keep Your Eyes Healthy

Vision is one of the most precious gifts that we have. Manytimes we neglect the importance of eye health and become indifferent about eye care.What are some ways we can make sure our eyes are properly cared for?Below are a few tips any good optician or eye specialist would give you.
Dr. Jack T. Holladay recommends the following tips to keep your eyes in good health:

- Eye strain is an increasing problem in today’s society due to the amount of time many of us spend on the computer. This can cause eyefatigue and eventually lead to various eye problems like poor vision. Make sure to take some time from your busy schedule and relax your eyes by closing them for at least a minute or two. There are also many eye exercises which you can try to avoid eye problems.

- Get enough rest. Proper rest is great medicine to keep your eyes healthy.

- Never neglect the warning signs such as headaches, blurry vision or eye pain. If you are suffering from any of these symptoms, you must consult an eye doctor as soon as possible.

- Try to wear sunglasses when you’re outside or traveling in the car. Sunglasses provide great protection for your eyes from UVA and UVB rays which are harmful.

And it’s always recommended to schedule an annual appointment with your eye doctor to make sure your eye health is in good standing.However, if you feel you have developed anyissues with your vision, Dr. Jack T. Holladay recommends consulting an eye doctor as soon as possible. The doctor will examine your eyes and check for vision problems and if need be, recommend a treatment to solve the vision problem.
